When doing software updates on any of our devices, we commonly download the release notes along with the software and store them together.

It would be nice to be able to download these release notes in a PDF file. As of now, I must "print" the page and save them as a PDF to accomplish this, which is a bit crude (and never looks quite right).

Hi Justin McNutt,

I attached a PDF version to this article. Thanks for the suggestion!

A PDF version of the release notes is always available on the DCE product page on apc.com as well.

Best,

Jackie

Dear support,

While it is not working EcoStruxure IT forum for community, I write here my questions about the new release of DCE-8.0.

My question is: why since the DCE-8.0.0 version DCE client for Linux OS was removed? After upgrading to DCE-8.0.0.151 I regretfully noticed that there is DCE client only for MS Windows x64 :-(. I and many of my colleagues have been using DCE client for Linux OS for a long time and it was really convenient for us.
Maybe there are still some plans to bring back in the new release of DCE-8.0 client for LInux OS?

Very thanks for the support.

Dear support,

While it is not working EcoStruxure IT forum for community, I write here my questions about the new release of DCE-8.0.

My question is: after upgrading DCE-7.9.3-95 to DCE-8.0.0-151 NFS backups stopped working.
In the DCE-7.9.3-95 environment backups worked fine, including configuration and full backups (with compressed enabled). But after the upgrade, these backups report a Failed result when trying to run, although the test NFS mount is successful. I have also tried re-creating the NFS Configuration backup and the Synchronized backup, but they also fail.
In the 'nbc.xml' log file I was able to find these records of failed backups:
========
<log4j:event logger="com.netbotz.server.services.backup.impl.BackupJob" timestamp="1690808536627" level="INFO" thread="TP-Processor17">
<log4j:message><![CDATA[Mount test successful]]></log4j:message>
</log4j:event>

<log4j:event logger="com.netbotz.server.services.backup.impl.BackupJob" timestamp="1690808541520" level="INFO" thread="Scheduler worker 2 - Configuration backup">
<log4j:message><![CDATA[Mount Success: Able to write to the remote mount point]]></log4j:message>
</log4j:event>

<log4j:event logger="com.netbotz.server.services.backup.impl.BackupJob" timestamp="1690808541607" level="ERROR" thread="Scheduler worker 2 - Configuration backup">
<log4j:message><![CDATA[Failed to create remote backup file /data/mount/backup_share/sxwdce-kv0.back/configuration_sxwdce-kv0_20230731160221_8.0.0.dce
Error: qemu-img: /data/mount/backup_share/sxwdce-kv0.back/configuration_sxwdce-kv0_20230731160221_8.0.0.dce: Image is not in qcow2 format]]></log4j:message>
</log4j:event>

<log4j:event logger="com.netbotz.server.services.backup.impl.BackupJob" timestamp="1690808541607" level="ERROR" thread="Scheduler worker 2 - Configuration backup">
<log4j:message><![CDATA[Failed to mount the remote backup file]]></log4j:message>
</log4j:event>

<log4j:event logger="com.netbotz.server.services.backup.impl.BackupJob" timestamp="1690808541607" level="ERROR" thread="Scheduler worker 2 - Configuration backup">
<log4j:message><![CDATA[backup failed]]></log4j:message>
</log4j:event>
========

I suspect that the problem may be that the NFS backup jobs are created with compressed enabled, as I had this configured in the old version of DCE-7.9.3-95. And judging from the release notes DCE-8.0.0-151 this parameter is no longer used and was removed.

Very thanks for the support.
