Asset Definition is a paid service for new Device Definition File (DDF) requests for EcoStruxure IT Gateway and Data Center Expert.
If any of your power and cooling devices are unsupported by the Gateway or by Data Center Expert, you can purchase this service to create and program up to twenty DDFs, including up to three revisions.
Each individual DDF is designed to be compliant for either Data Center Expert or EcoStruxure IT Gateway, not both.
Your DDFs will be delivered on a pre-defined date. Pricing is customized based on the number of DDFs you request.
How to request a DDF using the service
For Data Center Expert
Our Data Center Expert DDF repository contains the most commonly requested DDFs. New 3rd party DDFs for DCE can only be added through the Asset Definition File Programming service.
To request a DDF:
- Go to https://ddf.ecostruxureit.com/ and search for the device. A DDF might already be available.
- If a DDF is not available, click the Submit a request link at the bottom of the page.
For EcoStruxure IT Gateway
The Asset Definition service is available for EcoStruxure IT Gateway DDF requests to monitor 3rd party devices on EcoStruxure IT Expert and use the EcoStruxure Asset Advisor service.
For EcoStruxure IT only, DDFs requests that are not covered by the Asset Definition service are prioritized based on the number of requests for a given device. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a timeline for these requests.
